According to details, there was a shooting outside the American consulate in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday, an armed person and a security officer were killed in the incident.

According to Arab media, the spokesman of the Makkah Region Police said that a man parked a car near the consulate and got out with a weapon, upon which the security officers stationed at the American consulate opened fire on him. The person was killed.

However, in the exchange of fire, the Nepalese officer posted at the American consulate was also killed, the police have started investigating the incident.

The US State Department said in its statement that no American citizens were injured in the shooting, and that the US Embassy and Consulate are in contact with Saudi authorities to investigate the incident.
