Karachi: Acclaimed television actor Shakeel passed away at the age of 85.
According to Express News, the legendary drama actor Alil Aur was admitted to a private hospital for four days.
The renowned actor of the small screen rose to fame with his excellent performances and memorable roles in several dramas. Among his popular dramas are Shah Zori, Ankal Arfi, Intarfarmaye, An Kahi, Zeer Zabar Peesh, Afshan, Anna, Arosa and Angan Teedha.
Shakeel also showed his acting chops in some films including Honahar, Josh Naff, Nakhda, Badal Aur Bijli, Jeedaar, Chahat and Zaharishq, but he got real recognition from dramas.
His original name was Yusuf Kamal, but after entering the world of showbiz, he was given the name Shakeel.
According to family sources, Shakeel also had a bypass several years ago and also suffered from joint disease, which made it difficult to walk, so an employee used to help him walk.
According to family sources, the late actor’s daughter will reach Karachi by a 6 am flight tomorrow and her funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow Friday after Asr prayers.
The late actor is survived by his wife Free, daughter Hara and son Haider.
