Karachi: The North Nazimabad police also arrested the second member of the dacoit gang who robbed the citizens at tea hotels, the police have already arrested the motorcycle-riding robber in the incidents.
According to the spokesman of the District Central Police, SHO North Nazimabad Amjad Kayani, on a tip-off, arrested the bandit Azir son of Momin, who was involved in the looting incidents, and recovered the arms and motorcycle.
The arrested dacoit along with his accomplice Gul Zaman stole 6 mobile phones and cash from the citizens sitting at the tea hotel located behind the Golden Gate of North Nazimabad block, the footage of which went viral on social media.
According to the spokesman, the arrested robber has revealed during the preliminary investigation that he along with his other accomplices had committed more than 20 incidents at Gulshan Iqbal, Orangi, North Nazimabad, Nazimabad, Matriculation Board Office and Five Star Chowrangi.
The robbers used to change the IMEI numbers of the stolen mobile phones during the incident and also bypassed the iCloud ID of the iPhone and sold them through a person named Hussain Ali. The phones have been sold.
According to the spokesperson, 30 bore pistols, loaded magazines, 6 stolen mobile phones and a Suzuki motorcycle 110 worth Rs.
SHO North Nazimabad Amjad Kayani said that the arrested dacoit Uzair belongs to Kala Dhaka area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the police also got a video of him firing weapons in his native area.
According to the police spokesperson, Afghanis are also included in this dacoit group who are involved in many incidents of street crimes including robbery of hotels and the investigation against them is ongoing.
