Parents also reported urinary problems; Doctors advice
Lucknow: Doctors in the city of Bareilly in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh have set an example of negligence and carelessness.
According to Indian media, the parents of a two-and-a-half-year-old child from Bareilly filed a complaint with the police that the child had a speech problem for which doctors recommended an operation and for this purpose, the child was admitted to the hospital.
The parents said that the child came back from the operation theater and saw that no operation was done on the child’s tongue, but it was circumcised. The matter also gained attention on social media.
The Deputy Chief Minister, who is also the Health Minister, took notice of the parents’ complaint and sought a report from the Health Ministry within 24 hours.
On the other hand, the hospital administration says that it was first reported that the child is having difficulty in speaking, but later the parents said that the child has difficulty in urinating.
The doctors told the police that the cure for urinary incontinence was circumcision surgery, but the parents were confused.
The Hindu community also protested outside the hospital for the circumcision of the child.
