Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani reached Islamabad as the Acting President of the President’s House where he assumed the duties.
According to the sources, the Election Act Amendment Bill is likely to be signed today after the Acting President Sadiq Sanjrani took charge.
Sources have said that this bill will become an Act of Parliament as soon as Acting President Sadiq Sanjrani signs it.
It should be noted that the President of the State, Dr. Arif Alvi, along with a 52-member delegation, has left for Saudi Arabia on a special plane of the national airline, PIA, to achieve the blessings of Hajj.
In the absence of the President, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani has taken over the duties of the Acting President.
The Cabinet Division has issued a notification for Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani to take charge as Acting President.
On the other hand, after being approved by the Senate, the Election Act Amendment Bill has also been approved by the National Assembly and has been sent to the President’s House for approval.
