Washington: A 48-year-old woman shot an online taxi driver in the head after mistaking her for kidnapping him.
According to American media, this incident happened in the state of Texas. The woman had booked a taxi online and was on her way to her destination.
During the journey, he passed a signboard that led him to believe that the road was going to Mexico. At the same time, the woman thought that the driver was abducting her and taking her to Mexico.
Without thinking, the woman took out a pistol from her bag and opened fire on the driver. One bullet hit the driver on the head while the other hit the palm.
The condition of the driver is critical and has been kept in the intensive care ward.
Police say that no evidence of abduction has been found in the initial investigation. The woman was misunderstood. A case has been registered against them and an inquiry has been started.
Expressing outrage over the incident, the online taxi company has demanded strict legal action against the woman.
