Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi called for a comprehensive plan to improve livestock and dairy development.
In the meeting chaired by Mohsin Naqvi, it was decided to take measures on an emergency basis for the promotion of beef, mutton and poultry industry in Punjab.
In the meeting, halal certification and traceability of livestock production was made mandatory for export while giving instructions to make a comprehensive policy for exporting meat.
According to the briefing given in the meeting, Punjab has the potential to export billions of dollars worth of livestock and dairy products to Saudi Arabia and China.
In the meeting, a principle decision has also been taken to declare Bahawalpur Division as Met Division.
During the briefing in the meeting, emphasis was also placed on moving the poultry industry towards mechanization.
