Why did the head of the mercenary Wagner group retreat from Moscow?

MOSCOW: Head of Mercenary Wagner Group has retreated from Moscow, Belarus President says Yevgeny Parvozhin backed out on security guarantees.

According to foreign media reports, the head of the Wagner Group left for Belarus after the deal, with the Kremlin assuring that Yevgeny Prigozhin and his troops would not be prosecuted.

The head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, halted the advance towards Moscow, ordering his militia back to field camps. Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Russia’s ally Belarus, said in his statement to the media that Wagner agreed to end the rebellion, without bloodshed, so Wagner agreed to stop the attack on Moscow.

He added that as per the agreement, the Wagner group has backed down on the security guarantee for its fighters, the Wagner PMC gave up the insurgency in return for the security guarantee for the fighters.

Belarus ‘saved’ Russia from attack

The Office of the President of Belarus said that Wagner chief Prigozhin accepted the proposal of the President of Belarus.
