The IMF and Pakistan are close to a final deal

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Pakistan are close to a final deal, with a formal announcement expected soon.

According to the sources, the hurdles between Pakistan and the IMF in the ninth review and program rehabilitation have been removed.

The breakthrough came from contacts and meetings between Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Managing Director (MD) of the IMF in Paris.

Sources say that the discussions between the Ministry of Finance and the IMF team were going on for 3 days, between Friday and Saturday night, the discussions and the preparation of the new draft continued.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and his team were busy settling matters for the last 3 days.

Sources have claimed that if there are no further problems or technical difficulties between the IMF and Pakistan, the ninth review will be completed.
