Heavy rains are likely across the country on Eid

A heavy rain system will enter the country from today, rain is expected in different parts of the country from tonight to June 30.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab, the weather is expected to be pleasant on Eid also, the provincial control room and the districts emergency operation centers have been alerted.

The PDMA said that rain may occur in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Guliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali and Sargodha from tonight to June 30.

Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh may also experience rain.

The PDMA said that during June 26 to 29, DG Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Bhakkar, Leh, Kot Addu, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sahiwal, Pakpattan and Okara may experience wind and thundershowers.

Heavy rains are likely to cause urban flooding in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala on June 26 and 27, while landslides may also occur in Murree.

PDMA said that there is fear of flood situation in DG Khan on June 27, travelers and tourists should be careful to avoid unpleasant situation.

Officials say that farmers should arrange agricultural affairs according to the rainy season, due to wind, heavy rains can damage weak infrastructure, electric poles and solar panels etc. can be damaged, in case of urban emergency. Call PDMA helpline 1129 for assistance.
