US bombers have landed in Sweden for the first time, taking part in NATO exercises.
On June 19, two US Air Force ‘B One B Lancer’ aircraft arrived at Lulia Kalkis Airport in northern Sweden.
“We are conducting a joint exercise with the Bomber Task Force, which includes both the Air Force and the Army,” Air Force spokeswoman Louis Levin said.
Sweden announced earlier this month that it was ready to provide bases to the military alliance on its soil before becoming a NATO member.
It should be noted that Sweden was invited to join the NATO military alliance in June 2022, but there are obstacles to becoming a member due to the objection of Turkey and Hungary.
