Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang met in Paris. On this occasion, the two leaders discussed economic cooperation including CPEC and all aspects of bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on this occasion that he is grateful for China’s support for Pakistan’s geographical integrity and economic development. He said that China opposed the convening of the G20 meeting in the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chinese Prime Minister said that Pak-China friendship is unique which is unaffected by the change of time and circumstances. Pakistan holds a special position in diplomacy with China’s neighbours.
The Chinese Premier said that China will continue its efforts to protect Pakistan’s key interests and economic development.
During the meeting, it was agreed that CPEC is of central importance in the socio-economic development of Pakistan. While the determination to continue working together to achieve common interests of both countries was also expressed.
Both the leaders agreed to celebrate 10 years of success of CPEC. The Chinese Prime Minister accepted the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to visit Pakistan.
