Pridi Police arrested 3 senior inspectors of Sindh Building Control Authority for demanding Rs 40 lakh extortion from the builder of an under-construction building in Karachi’s Sadar area.
According to SSP South Asad Raza, among the arrested officers are 3 senior building inspectors of SBCA Umeer Karim, Amin and Zafar alias Spari while Deputy Director Syed Owais Hussain and Zia alias Kala Farar are at large.
Arrested and absconding accused had demanded Rs 40 lakh ex-gratia from the builder of the building under construction on MA Jinnah Road and Rs 5 lakh was collected in the first phase.
A case of the incident has been registered in Pardi police station on the complaint of Syed Bilal Najeeb, the provisions of extortion and terrorism have been added to the case.
