Kathleen Cosnett, the cousin of British billionaire Hamish Harding, who was aboard the missing submarine, has said that submarine company Oceangate took too long to raise the alarm.
Speaking to media in London, Kathleen, 69, said Oceangate raised the alarm eight hours late, even though the submarine lost contact with the surface ship Polar Prince at 9:45 a.m. Sunday.
He said the US Coast Guard was not notified of the submarine’s disappearance until 5:40 p.m. It is very disturbing that it took so long to start the rescue operation.
