The Judicial Activism Panel, while writing to the President and other officials, demanded the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the Yunnan boat accident.
According to the text of the letter, many such accidents have occurred but the real culprits could not be exposed.
The judicial activism panel has said in the letter that human lives were lost in such accidents, comprehensive investigations were not done.
The letter also states that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cannot investigate these incidents transparently, and a judicial commission consisting of judges from high courts should be constituted.
It should be noted that the death toll in the boat sinking accident has increased to 81 while 104 people were rescued.
According to media reports, around 400 to 750 passengers were on board the boat.
