Karachi: The Provincial Department of College Education Sindh has approved the inter-year first admission policy and after 23 years, admissions in government colleges of Karachi will be given on zonal basis instead of merit which was given according to the pre-2000 system. were

Under the new admission policy, the first year inter-year admissions will be under two different systems. Under the first system, students with A1 and A grades will be eligible to apply for admission to any college across the city, while under the second policy, students with “B, C, D and E” grades will be eligible to apply only in their respective zones. I will be able to apply for admissions.

Cap Policy Secretary Rashid Khoso told Express that a zone of 25-minute drive will be envisaged and 12 zones have been created in Karachi.

To a question, he said that students of B, C, D and E grades will not be able to take admission in big and reputed colleges of the city even if it falls in their zone because it will lose merit. Under the new policy, admissions will start online from June 27 and online forms will be submitted by July 20, but this period can be extended up to August 1.

According to the ongoing notification of the Secretary College Education, the admission lists of all faculties will be released by July 25 and the classes will start from August 5. Students with A1 and A grades can apply for admission in any college across the city, but students with B, C and D grades will be able to apply for admission only in their zone. Domicile and PRC will be mandatory for admissions.

According to the notification, claim centers will be set up in various colleges and all these admissions will be given on the basis of Class IX results.
