Michigan: American doctors have said after a survey conducted in their country that the period of stomach in children should not be neglected.
The University of Michigan Hospital has reported that one in six children in the United States alone complains of a stomach ache at least once a month. According to the survey, one in three parents said that they can reliably find out the cause and administer the medicine themselves. While the doctor is consulted only in case of frequent pain.
But it was found that two out of five parents do not tell the doctor about their children’s stomach ache, which is a wrong trend.
In this regard, Dr. Susan Woolford says that abdominal pain can be the cause of many other complications. On the other hand, Dr. Anthony Porto, a specialist at Yale University, emphasizes that frequent stomach aches can be the cause of ‘Gastrointestinal (Bowel) Syndrome’. It can also result in overall mental health impairment.
According to the survey, most of the parents are not even interested in qualified doctors and proper treatment methods in this regard. This is because in severe cases the pain can be caused by appendicitis, urinary tract infection (UTI), hernia and other complications.
This is the reason why it is important to consult a qualified doctor immediately if a child has severe and painful abdominal pain.
