Karachi: It has been five years since Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi, the famous writer and humorist of Urdu literature, was separated from his fans.
Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi was born on 4 September 1923 in Jaipur, India and after independence he migrated to Pakistan and held senior positions in various banks.
His writings include Essays, Sketches, Aap Baiti and in all of them there is that delightful flow of humor which makes every reader of Urdu language humor feel like Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi’s guru.
In his writings, there is a glimpse of social, political and cultural color along with the beautiful memories of the past.
Five books of Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi have been published, including Chirag Tale, Khakam Badhan, Zargasht, Aab Gum and Sham Shariyaran.
Government of Pakistan awarded him Satara Imtiaz in 1999 and Hilal Imtiaz in 2002 for outstanding services in literature.
After illness, Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi left this mortal world on 20th June 2018 and with his death, a chapter of humorous Urdu literature was closed.
