The government has waived off all charges for containers stuck at Karachi ports

Karachi: (PNP Update) Federal Minister for Maritime Senator Faisal Sabz Wari has said that the fine of thousands of containers stuck at Karachi Port and Port Qasim has been waived.

While holding a press conference with the business community in Karachi, Faisal Sabzwari said that we are aware that thousands of containers of shipping lines are stuck at the ports. No fine will be charged from the containers stuck at Port and Port Qasim.

He said that the shipping lines have given a reasonable discount in the demurrage charges on the containers, not even a single rupee will be charged from the containers stuck at the ports.

Faisal Sabzwari further said that containers will be transferred to off-dock terminals, no shipping lines are going to be closed in Pakistan, the business of shipping lines will continue, we have informed the business community.

The federal minister said that the business community is sitting with us, they are also aware that the government is trying to solve the problems, it is a difficult time but we will face it together. Activities will come, no government can function if the business community does not help.
