Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Trafficking Circle Gujarat arrested the agent involved in Yunan boat accident while conducting operations in Wazirabad.
The spokesperson of FIA says that the accused Shabbir had received money to send the affected citizens to Europe.
FIA says that the accused agent Shabbir was arrested on the identification of a victim’s family.
It should be noted that regarding the tragic incident of capsizing of the boat on the way from Greece to Italy, the government of Greece provided the preliminary investigation information of the accident to Pakistan.
The boat that suffered an accident in Greece had left Benghazi, Libya, for Italy on June 9. The accident occurred on June 14, fifty nautical miles from Plas, Greece.
The place of the accident is near the fishing area of five kilometers deep in the borders of Greece. The owner of the boat is Egyptian. There were residents of Pakistan, Syria and Libya in the boat.
After the accident, the Hellenic Coast Guard rescued 104 people including 12 Pakistanis, the bodies of 79 people were also recovered, the bodies could not be identified. The names of 14 Pakistani human traffickers have also been revealed.
