According to Saudi media, this year Eid-ul-Adha is likely to be on Wednesday, June 28, for which the Saudi Supreme Court has appealed to the public to look at the Zul-Hijjah moon this evening and register the testimonies at the nearest offices.

There is a strong possibility that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah will be seen today in other Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and according to this calculation, the main day of Hajj, Waqf Arafah, is expected on Tuesday, June 27, and Eid-ul-Azha is expected on June 28.

In the statement released by the Saudi Supreme Court, it has been said that the moon can be seen without a telescope and those who want to see it with a telescope will also be allowed, if the moon is seen, register their testimony immediately.

Dhul-Hijjah is the blessed month in which Muslims from all over the world flock to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam.

Also, in this month, an animal is sacrificed, this sacrifice is done in memory of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) sacrificing his son Ishmael (peace be upon him) in fulfillment of divine order.

The Lord of all the worlds found Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) to have passed the severe test, so he performed a miracle and at the time of turning the knife in the place of his son Hazrat Ismail (A.S.), Danba appeared.

In memory of this event, Muslims sacrifice a camel, cow, goat or donkey every year on Dhu al-Hijjah.
