Famous Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan’s film ‘Don’ was produced by filmmaker Nariman Irani to pay off a loan.
Amitabh Bachchan has delivered many blockbuster films in his film career. His films included his 1978 release Don, which played a major role in catapulting the Emperor of Bollywood to the heights of fame.
Don turned out to be a super hit at the Bollywood box office. Famous actors like Zeenat Aman, Pran and Sathendra Kapoor acted in it.
However, the interesting thing here is that the producers were facing a huge financial crisis at the time of the film’s release. But this film became a blockbuster. Which grossed around Rs 7 crore at the box office and was one of the biggest hits of its time.
The film was offered by Nariman Irani, who was in debt at the time and very few would know that Nariman Irani produced the film to pay off his debt.
Unfortunately, Nariman died in an accident before the film was completed.
It should be noted that Nariman Irani’s film ‘Zindagi Zindagi’ failed miserably at the Bollywood box office. Due to which he became indebted to the tune of 12 lakh rupees.
