Major power breakdown in major cities of the country including Lahore

Lahore: (PNP News) There was a power breakdown in major cities of the country, including Lahore, due to which electricity supply has been suspended in many areas.

Sources say that electricity supply in the entire country was affected due to power trip in Multan region.

Electricity supply was suspended in different areas of Lahore at around 7:30 am. Sources of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) say that all big and small cities including Lahore have lost electricity. According to preliminary information, South and North A fault occurred simultaneously in the main lines.

On the other hand, with reference to Karachi, Kesco Chief says that the supply line coming from Guddu and DG Khan tripped due to which entire Balochistan is deprived of electricity, information is being taken regarding the technical fault.

The areas where power supply was suspended include Gulistan Johar, Gulshan Jamal, Rashid Minhas Road, Rongi, Malir, Qayyumabad, Old City Area and other areas.

The electricity supply has been suspended in all the districts of Balochistan and in this regard, Quetta Electric Supply Company (Cesco) officials say that the two transmission lines of electricity coming from Guddu to Quetta have been tripped due to which large parts of the province have been affected. Electricity supply was suspended.

Electricity supply is also suspended in Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Gojra, Sargodha, Shorkot, Pir Mahal and many other cities.

According to the sources, the power plants of Gaddu, Jamshoro, Muzaffargarh are closed, while 500 megawatts of electricity was being generated in Haveli Shah Bahadur, Baloki, Tarbela and Mangla dams. Electricity has also been shut down in various areas of South Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Sources further say that power supply is suspended in LESCO, GAPCO, ISCO regions while NTDC and electricity distribution companies have started restoration work.

Spokesman ISCO says that the power supply to 117 grid stations of Islamabad is suspended, no clear reason has been given by the Region Control Center yet, they are in constant communication with the relevant authorities.

Sources from the National Power Control say that at present the system is completely shut down, due to a fault in the main lines, the entire system is down, it may take several hours to restore power.
