Mumbai: A recent interview revealed that renowned Indian filmmaker Mani Ratnam wanted to drop legendary musician AR Rahman from the project.
AR Rahman and Mani Ratnam worked together for the film ‘Roja’ which became a hit and a few years later they came together for ‘Bombay’.
Rajeev Menon revealed in an interview that he was wrapping up the shooting of ‘Bombay’ and that AR Rahman had not composed the song ‘Huma Huma’ for the film.
He said that one day the musician called him and Mani Ratnam to his studio to listen to another song which brought tears to their eyes.
According to Rajiv Meenan, Mani Ratnam told AR Rahman that he was there to release him from the project but the composer’s new song made him cry.
