The Ministry of Energy has prepared a plan to generate expensive electricity with electricity shortfall in the country.
According to sources in the Ministry of Petroleum, wind power plants with a capacity of 1800 megawatts have been shut down due to a possible hurricane, while power generation on LNG has been reduced by 1500 megawatts.
According to sources, power plants running on imported coal have also been shut down and expensive diesel power will be generated from today, which can be charged up to Rs 66 per unit.
The ministry has also decided to release more water from dams to increase hydropower generation. The flow of water in the Indus River has increased to 150,000 cusecs, and the discharge of water from Tarbela and Mangala will be increased.
