Highlighting the importance of Gwadar, the Abad delegation requested Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal to take up the matter of giving Gwadar the status of Special Economic District with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif so that the process can be accelerated. The delegation said that Balochistan’s The government has already approved the status of Special Economic District to Gwadar.

They requested the Federal Minister to declare Gwadar as a Special Economic District as soon as possible for the economic development of the country. Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that he will try to convince the federal government to give Gwadar a tax exemption for 10 to 20 years.
Ahsan Iqbal assured the Abad delegation that this matter will be immediately taken up with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and all stakeholders as it is very important for the development of Pakistan.
The delegation also discussed with the finance minister to immediately initiate projects for the promotion of tourism in the coastal belt of Makran, especially the coastal areas of the Gwadar range, in consultation with the Balochistan Coastal Development Authority.
