The way was paved for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in three towns of Karachi, People’s Party withdrew its candidates.
People’s Party has withdrawn its candidates from Shah Faisal Town, Mominabad, Sadar Town.
According to sources, PTI had won majority in all three towns, elected chairmen of all three towns have already become part of forward block.
Chairman and Vice Chairman elections were held in 25 Town Municipal Corporations (TMCs) of Karachi in which Chairman and Vice Chairman were elected unopposed in 16 TMCs.
According to the Election Commission, the chairman and vice-chairman were elected unopposed in the three towns of Malir district, the chairman and vice-chairman were elected unopposed in 3 out of 4 TMCs of Korangi district.
Chairman and Vice-Chairman were elected unopposed in both TMCs of South District, Chairman and Vice-Chairman were elected unopposed in one of the 3 TMCs of West District.
In 4 out of 5 TMCs of Central District, Chairman and Vice-Chairman were elected unopposed, while in three towns of Kemari District, Chairman and Vice-Chairman were elected unopposed.
According to Election Commission, 9 out of 25 Town Municipal Corporations of Karachi will have elections for Chairman and Vice Chairman.
