Director Tropical Cyclone Warning Center Zubair Siddiqui says that Cyclone Buparjoy is currently of Category 3 intensity.
In a conversation with ‘Jeo News’, Director Tropical Cyclone Warning Center Zubair Siddiqui said that the wind speed of 118 to 165 is blowing in the center of the storm of this intensity.
They say they expect it to weaken by tomorrow, and if it weakens before landfall, it will go down to Category 2.
Zubair Siddiqui said that it takes 2 days for the effects of a Category 2 cyclone to subside, with waves reaching 30 to 35 feet at the time of landfall in coastal areas of Gujarat, India.
He said that waves of 15 to 18 and 20 feet may rise in Keti Bandar, Badin and nearby coastal areas, while waves of 10 to 12 feet may rise in Karachi.
The director of the Tropical Cyclone Warning Center says that due to the storm, there are threats to the villages near the sea in Karachi, but there is no fear of damage in DHA and Clifton.
He has further informed that there is a possibility of intermittent light rain in Karachi today, this rain is likely to continue intermittently till Friday and Saturday.
Zubair Siddiqui has instructed the citizens that the solar panels on the roofs of the houses should be strengthened if they are not in a strong iron frame.
