In Karachi, 17 people who went to the beach were arrested and booked for violating Section 144, 36 buildings declared dangerous in South District were evacuated.
In order to avoid the possible damage caused by the cyclone, the South District Administration has evacuated or sealed 36 buildings in the district which have been declared extremely dangerous.
The shops located in the buildings declared as dangerous in South district have also been sealed, according to the Deputy Commissioner South, all the restaurants on the beach have also been completely closed in DHA Phase 8.
The work of the under-construction buildings in the district has also been stopped, as per the safety rules, the machinery installed on the buildings has also been removed.
Shelter houses have also been set up in Arambagh, Saddar, Lyari, Garden and Civil Line subdivisions.
Deputy Commissioner South said that Pakistan Army, Rangers, PDMA, K Electric, Water Board are in touch with the officers of all relevant institutions, contingency plan is ready to deal with any emergency situation.
In the district, along with removal of all billboards, signboards, cutting of thick and weak trees is also going on rapidly.
An emergency control room has been set up at the DC South office and in case of any emergency, public can report on 021-99205628, 021-99205629.
Emergency has been declared in all hospitals of the district and plans are ready to deal with any emergency.
