US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller has said that he is aware of the reports of the cases of civilians allegedly involved in the May 9 events being tried in military courts.
Matthew Miller said in a statement that Pakistani authorities are asked to respect democratic values and the rule of law for all as per the constitution.
He said that he is in constant contact with the top Pakistani authorities on human rights, democracy, journalists’ security and law enforcement.
Responding to the question of Russian oil purchases, Matthew Miller said that it has been clear that each country has to decide according to its energy needs.
He said that Russian oil has been sold at very cheap prices than the market rate, the price of Russian oil fell due to the limit set by the US and its allies.
Matthew Miller said that we estimate that Russia lost $100 billion in additional revenue that could have been spent on war.
The spokesperson of the US Department of State further said that the US has not imposed restrictions on the export of Russian energy.
