Kenya: Starvation death toll exceeds 300

Nairobi: The death toll from Kenya’s famine has surpassed 300 as authorities recover more bodies from the jungle.

According to global media reports, this is by far the worst sectarian tragedy in Kenya’s history, with one of the worst tragedies being Good News International Church pastor Paul McKenzie lured followers to heaven after starving to death.

Paul McKenzie ordered his followers to starve themselves and their children so that they could go to heaven before the end of the world. After 19 bodies were first exhumed from mass graves in the Shikahola forest in the country’s southeast, the total number has now risen to 303, while more than 600 people are still missing.

Security officials have cordoned off a wide area to search for more bodies.
