Overseas Pakistanis have sent 2 billion 10 million dollars to Pakistan in May of this financial year. Workers’ remittances in May were four percent lower than April and nearly 13 percent lower than May last year.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia have sent three and a half million dollars more in May compared to April, but in 11 months, Saudi remittances remained less than one billion and 15 million dollars.
In the 11 months of this financial year, workers’ remittances have decreased by 3 billion 65 million dollars. In these 11 months, 24 billion 83 million dollars have been sent to Pakistan. In 11 months of the last financial year, 28.5 billion dollars were sent to Pakistan.
In 11 months, 5 billion 92 crore from Saudi Arabia, 4 billion 32 crore from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), 3 billion 71 crore from the United Kingdom, 2 billion 91 crore from other Gulf countries, 2 billion 84 crore from the European Union and the United States. 2 billion 2 crore dollars have been sent to Pakistan.
