Aging-slowing ingredient discovered

New York: Scientists say that components found in a protein found in foods such as meat or fishAnd Taurine can potentially slow down the aging process.

In a study conducted by an international team of researchers, taurine supplementation was observed to slow the rate of aging in rats and monkeys. The study also found that the lifespan and health of the mice increased by 12 percent in middle age.

The results, published in the journal Science, pave the way for human trials, scientists said.

Vijay Yadav, an assistant professor at Columbia University and head of research, said that human society is aging. It has to do with changes in the molecular makeup within us. For the past 25 years, scientists have been trying to find factors that not only extend our lives, but also extend our lifespan in old age.

“Research suggests that taurine may be the substance that helps us live longer and live healthier lives,” he said.

Taurine is an amino acid found in meat, fish and eggs and plays an important role in supporting immunity, nervous system function and energy production.

In this study, scientists tested about 250 mice and rats. The age of these mice was around 14 months which is about 45 years according to human age. Half of the group of rats were given taurine, while the other half were given a different solution.

The team found that after the taurine diet, the lifespan of mice was increased by 12 percent and that of mice by up to 10 percent.

According to the researchers, this period meant an increase of three to four months in the life of mice, which is seven to eight years in human life.
