Minister of State for External Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar arrived in Brussels today on a two-day official visit. The purpose of his visit is to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Belgium in all areas of cooperation.
It has to focus specifically on the supply of manpower from Pakistan for Belgium’s needs.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of State said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Belgium which have a long history in the fields of trade, investment and educational cooperation.
Commencing her official engagements during the visit, Minister of State Hina Rabbani Khar first met the Belgian Secretary of State for Migration and Asylum, Nicole de Moor. During the meeting, constructive discussions were held on increasing cooperation in the field of manpower.
Apart from this, Minister of State Hina Rabbani Khar also met the chairperson of Pakistan Belgium Parliamentary Friendship Group, Senator Alicia Klis. The talks focused on developing strong ties between the two countries and finding ways to increase cooperation in trade and investment.
In the meeting, both sides also emphasized the mutual benefit of promoting people-to-people contacts as well as enhancing parliamentary contacts.
Minister of State Hina Rabbani Khar invited the Belgian parliamentarians to visit Pakistan and build people-to-people relations between the two countries.
