Khartoum: A 24-hour ceasefire between the army and its rival Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan has expired, sparking renewed civil war in Sudan.
According to international media reports, a 24-hour ceasefire agreement was signed between the warring parties after the start of the civil war in Sudan about 8 weeks ago, which was described as the most peaceful day since the civil war.
Within 30 minutes of the cease-fire ending on Sunday, airstrikes, shelling and machine-gun fire were heard in several parts of the country. 7 civilians have been killed in the capital Khartoum in airstrikes by the army during the fighting.
It should be noted that the ceasefire was brokered by the US and Saudi Arabia to facilitate the safe passage of much-needed humanitarian aid across the country.
