Barrister Amjad Malik, head of the Association of Pakistani Lawyers, wrote a letter to British Prime Minister Rishi Sonak on the situation in Pakistan. The letter demanded that the international community should support democracy and rule of law in Pakistan.
Barrister Amjad Malik’s letter said that PTI had launched a venomous anti-Pakistan campaign both at home and abroad. On 9 May 2023, politically-backed rioters set fire to key country installations. Chairman PTI organizes and incites activists and terrorists for operations.
The letter further states that all the arrested persons are being given full right to timely treatment by the courts. Those who damage military installations will be prosecuted under the Criminal Code.
The Human Rights Commission, a civil society organization, has conducted an on-the-ground assessment of prison conditions for all women prisoners. No state can allow armed struggle for politics. Pakistan is fighting insurgencies without violating human rights.
