Sindh budget of 2247 billion rupees presented, 35% increase in salaries

Karachi: 2247 billion by Sindh government presented a budget of Rs.37 billion 79 crores in which there is a deficit of Rs. Salaries have been increased by 35% and pension by 17.5% while the minimum salary has been announced to be fixed at Rs 35,550.

According to Express News, the Sindh Cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. In the meeting, the finance bill of Sindh for the new financial year was presented, which was officially approved by the Sindh Cabinet.

After the cabinet meeting, Sindh Assembly meeting was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani. In which Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah is presenting the budget, he has kept the portfolio of the Finance Ministry.

PTI Sindh MLAs were absent in the meeting while MQM MLAs are expected to attend. When the budget meeting started, only one member of the opposition, Abdul Rasheed, was present.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that in this assembly he has got the honor of presenting this budget for the twelfth time while this is the fifth budget of the present government.

The size of the budget

Murad Ali Shah said that after an increase of 31 percent compared to last year, the provincial budget has been allocated 2247 billion 58 million rupees, while last year this budget was 1713 billion 58 million rupees, the current fiscal year’s income is estimated at 2209 billion. Rs have been allocated while the budget deficit is Rs 37 billion 79 crore.

Salary, pension, minimum wage

The Chief Minister of Sindh announced a 35 percent increase in the salaries of employees from grade one to sixteen, 30 percent in the salaries of employees from grades 17 to 22 and 17.5 percent in pension. Along with this, he also announced to increase the minimum salary from 25 thousand to 35 thousand 550 rupees.

Annual development expenditure

689 billion 60 crore rupees have been proposed for development expenditure for the new financial year, 380.5 billion rupees have been allocated for provincial ADP and 30 billion rupees for district ADP. 266.691 billion for external assistance projects and 22.412 billion for federal PSDP have been proposed.
