Peshawar: 19 people died and more than 115 were injured in accidents due to storms and rains in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while 10 people were injured due to rains in different areas of Punjab.
In the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the number of people who have died in various accidents including the falling of deora during stormy rains has increased to 19 while the fear of more deaths is being expressed. 12 people died in Bannu, 3 in Lucky Marwat and 4 in Kirk.
According to Rescue 1122, 60 people were injured due to wind and storm, most of the accidents, roofs and walls collapsed.
According to the authorities, in view of the situation, emergency has been implemented in all hospitals. The number of dead and injured is high among children.
Due to heavy rain and flooding in the rivers, the streets and roads are looking like ponds while the electricity has been disconnected.
5 people including three children and a woman died in the incidents of wall collapse due to stormy rains in Lakki Marwat while 26 injured have been shifted to Tehsil Hospital.
On the other hand, rivers and canals have flooded due to heavy rain in Mingora city and surrounding area of Swat, while hailstorm has also occurred in some areas.
The Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan while expressing regret over the loss of life and property due to rains, prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and patience for the bereaved while expressing his condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved.
In his statement, the Chief Minister said that he shares the sufferings of the victims equally. The chief minister directed to initiate immediate relief operations in the affected areas by contacting the chief secretary and the concerned divisional and district administrations.
He directed that rescue and relief activities should be started in the affected areas without any delay, measures should be taken on emergency basis to shift the affected population to safe places and provide them immediate relief, using all available resources for this purpose. Bring the car.
Azam Khan said that the caretaker provincial government is with the victims in this hour of difficulty, all possible steps will be taken to provide relief and assistance to the victims, the provincial government will not leave the victims alone and they should be given all possible support. will
The Chief Minister also directed the officials of the health department to enforce emergency in the respective hospitals and ensure timely delivery of medical aid to the injured.
Relief activities of Pakistan Army
In the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, due to heavy storm and rain, the districts of Bannu, Lakki Marwat and Kirk were the most affected, where the relief teams of the Pakistan Army arrived and started the relief activities.
The rescue teams of the Pakistan Army shifted the injured to the district hospitals, while emergency has been imposed in the government hospitals of Bannu district.
The Prime Minister expressed regret
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives due to rains in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and expressed his condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased.
The Prime Minister directed to ensure relief and rehabilitation measures in the areas affected by NDMA, PDMA and Rescue 1122 and also directed the Chief Minister to cooperate.
The Prime Minister also directed the local administration to be mobilized, while the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa League leadership and workers were directed to do relief work with the institutions and asked for a report within 24 hours.
In view of the hurricane moving towards Karachi, the Prime Minister directed emergency measures in advance and ordered to make advance preparations with the cooperation of NDMA Sindh government and provincial institutions.
The Prime Minister directed full assistance to the affected areas and the people in the situation of storms and rains in Balochistan province and said that he is personally monitoring the relief work in the whole country, the administration and institutions should spare no effort in helping the people.
Foreign Minister and Asif Zardari expressed regret
Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed grief over the deaths in accidents during heavy rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab and said that my sympathies are with the families who lost their loved ones in the accidents. Grief is my grief. He said that the concerned authorities should use all possible resources to save the lives of the citizens in the affected areas. Party workers should cooperate with the administration in the affected areas, perform their duty actively in relief activities.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari expressed regret over the death due to rain and storm in Bannu, expressed sympathy with the victims and their families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Asif Zardari said that federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should help the victims of rain and storm.
Punjab rains
Meanwhile, 7 people were injured in different incidents due to wind and rain in different cities of Punjab and many trees fell down.
100 feeders of GAPCO were tripped due to ongoing rain and strong winds in various areas of the region including Gujranwala, due to which most areas of the region were plunged into darkness. Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Malkwal, Kharian, Dinga Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian, Jalalpur Bhattian, Sukhiki, Jalalpur Jattan, Sialkot, Wazirabad have been affected due to tripping of feeders.
Due to torrential rain in Gujranwala, 7 people were injured in accidents in different areas of the city. The shed of a steel factory fell on the workers due to the wind on Aymanabad road, due to which 3 workers were injured while 7 people were injured in the incidents of wind and rain roof collapse in Dhale and Gondanwala, Dhale scrap warehouse. Three people were injured when the roof of the house collapsed while four people were injured when the roof of the house collapsed in Gondanwala village.
