A fight broke out between two students in the canteen of University of Karachi, one of them was arrested.
Students protested against the student’s arrest, which was called off after negotiations with the university administration.
Mohabbate Khan, the brother of the arrested student, said that Adeel and his friends had a fight with my brother Ehtisham in the canteen.
Mohabbate Khan said that after some time people in plain clothes came and took my brother away.
Mohabbate Khan alleged that her brother was picked up by a close relative of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Bashir Brohi.
The police say that a case has been registered against Ihtesham and others in Adeel’s complaint, attempted murder, rioting and other provisions have been imposed in the case.
SSP CTD Bashir Brohi, presenting his stand, said that Adeel is my nephew, some boys misbehaved in the canteen.
He said that when Adeel tried to explain, he was subjected to torture.
SSP CTD said that the incident was informed to the police, the police arrested the responsible.
He further said that the talk of CTD raid is wrong, CTD has no role in it.
