US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken has emphasized on balance in relations with Pakistani rulers.
Antony Blanken responded to a letter from more than 60 US lawmakers in which they have called for balanced and cordial relations with Pakistani rulers without compromising human rights and democracy.
The US Secretary of State also emphasized the importance of communication with all stakeholders in Pakistan and highlighted important concerns on freedom of expression and political participation along with communication.
He says that a prosperous democratic Pakistan that respects civil rights is important to US interests, and the US State Department maintains close ties with the Government of Pakistan and other stakeholders.
Anthony Blanken says that while supporting democratic principles and the rule of law for all, America does not want to be a party to a conflict that will not end soon.
It should be noted that more than 60 American lawmakers had sent a letter to Anthony Blanken on May 16 in which he stressed on the protection of democracy and basic human rights in Pakistan.
