Pakistan has once again been elected as a member of the important and effective organization of the United Nations Ecosic Forum.
Pakistan got 129 out of 185 votes in the voting for the membership of Echosic Forum. Nepal got the highest 145 votes while Japan got 127 votes.
There was competition among 5 countries for 3 reserved seats for the countries of the Asia and Pacific region.
Iraq, Tajikistan, Japan, Pakistan and Nepal were candidates for 2 seats reserved for Asian countries.
The votes of 6 countries were rejected in the elections of 3 seats of Asian countries.
Pakistan has been re-elected for the term of 2024 to 2026, Pakistan has been elected as a member of the UN’s most important and effective organization, the Ecosic Forum, for the 11th time. While 6 has also been the president of this forum.
Munir Akram, Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Nations, expressed his happiness on being elected as a member of ECOSOC.
