The spokesperson of the US State Department, Vedant Patel, has said that Pakistani politics is a matter of the Pakistani people, whatever is according to the constitution.
During the weekly press briefing in Washington, he said that the US values its long-standing cooperation with Pakistan, and a prosperous and democratic Pakistan is in the interest of the US.
On the question of PTI chairman’s accusations against America, he said that he has said earlier that such accusations are absolutely wrong.
The spokesperson of the US State Department said that Khadija Shah has dual citizenship, and has asked the Pakistani authorities to give Khadija Shah consular access.
Vedant Patel said that if an American citizen is arrested, they are ready to help them, expecting the Pakistani authorities to guarantee a fair hearing.
He further said that Khadija Shah is in direct contact with the Pakistani authorities regarding the case and is following the case.
