Advocate Kate Abdul Razzaq Shar was killed by gunmen on a car near Quetta airport. Lawyers have announced a boycott of the courts against the incident.
He was also a petitioner in the high treason case against the slain former prime minister Umar In Khan.
According to the police, the incident took place at Alamo Chowk near the airport when Abdul Razzaq, an advocate, was going from his house to the court in a car, when people who had ambushed him fired at him and fled the scene.
After being injured in the attack, Abdul Razzaq died on the spot.
After the incident, the police and rescue agencies reached the spot and shifted his body to the civil hospital, while the police collected evidence from the spot.
According to the police surgeon, Abdul Razzaq Shar was hit by 9 mm pistol from 2 sides and sustained 15 bullets.
As soon as the incident was reported, a large number of lawyers started reaching the civil hospital.
The lawyers’ organizations boycotted the courts in protest against the incident.
Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudous Bizenjo expressed regret over the killing of Advocate Abdul Razzaq and took notice of the incident and sought a report from IG Balochistan.
According to the police, the incident is being examined from different aspects.
According to senior lawyer Amanullah Kunrani, Abdul Razzaq was the petitioner in the high treason case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Abdul Razzaq Advocate in the application filed in the High Court requested to initiate proceedings against Imran Khan under Article 6 of the Constitution.
The hearing of their constitutional petition will be held tomorrow, June 7.
