More than 30 people have been arrested in Kyrgyzstan for attempted coup.
According to international media reports, a group in Kyrgyzstan was planning to spread riots in the country to seize power.
The arrests came days after European Council President Charles Michel’s visit to Kyrgyzstan, when Kyrgyz President Siddir Japarov pledged his readiness to work with the European Union, the report said.
The mountainous country of Kyrgyzstan has long enjoyed freedom of expression in a region where people in many countries face restrictions on expression.
Therefore, NGOs, media and civil society are condemning the increase in pressure on the recent arrests in the country.
It should be remembered that since independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, the people of Kyrgyzstan have seen 3 presidents resign due to political crises caused by corruption, nepotism and disputed votes.
