Ashraf Abbasi, president of the Pakistan American Congress, organized a reception in honor of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, her sister, Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui, who has been incarcerated in the federal prison of Dallas for twenty years.
Consul General of Pakistan Aftab Chaudhry and Amaydeen community also participated in the reception.
In the reception, Dr. Fawzia and Aafia Foundation President Alhaj Mayuri were presented with a commendation shield by the Pakistan American Congress.
Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui, in her speech at the reception, described the heart-wrenching moments of meeting Dr. Aafia and said that my sister was deprived of facilities and cut off from the world. .
He further said that how are the conditions of Muslims and Pakistanis in America, what has happened to the governments of Pakistan, has Pakistan been occupied, why don’t people raise their voice?
Addressing the ceremony, the host Ashraf Abbasi criticized the court that sentenced Aafia Siddiqui.
He said that Aafia was innocent and is innocent, no charges against her have been proved, she had no connection with Osama Bin Laden or any other terrorist organization.
From the ceremony, Consul General Aftab Chaudhry paid tribute to the struggle, determination and courage of Dr. Fauzia for the release of her sister and said that thanks to her efforts, Aafia’s case has become the case of the entire nation.
