Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has announced the names of its candidates for the heads and deputy heads of local bodies of Sindh.
PP Sindh President Senator Nisar Ahmad Khoro has said that Pakistan People’s Party has emerged as the largest party in the province from Kashmore to Karachi in local elections.
He further said that the process of local government elections has been completed in three provinces, while it is regrettable that the local government bodies in Punjab, the largest province of the country, have been inactive for five years and the upcoming elections have not been scheduled.
Addressing a press conference at Bilawal House Karachi, PPP Sindh President Senator Nisar Ahmad Khoro announced the names of party candidates for mayor, deputy mayor and chairman and vice chairman of local bodies across Sindh and congratulated them. He also expressed good wishes.
On this occasion, Azam Dhamra, Saeed Ghani, Zia-ul-Hasan Linjar, Ejaz Jakhrani, Nauman Sheikh, Javed Naguri and other leaders were also with him.
Nisar Ahmad Khoro said that the announcement of the names of all candidates for the positions of chairman and vice chairman for district councils, municipal committees, town committees and union councils, including the positions of mayor and deputy mayor of municipal corporations across Sindh. It has been done in the light of a month-long consultation of officials and officials.
He said that priority has been given to party workers for the posts and specific seats of local bodies.
Nisar Ahmad Khoro said that the phase of elections for local bodies in Sindh is going to be for a year.
He said that in the light of the vision of Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, after giving representation to women, youth and laborers, this time the people with special abilities and the transgender community have also been represented in the local bodies.
He said that after the recent amendment of the Local Government Act by the Sindh government, any unelected person can contest the elections for the posts of the heads of the local bodies, but he has to get himself elected within 6 months.
Nisar Khoro added that such a law already exists in the National Assembly, Provincial Assembly and Senate.
The President of PP Sindh announced that Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui will be the candidate of Pakistan People’s Party for the post of Mayor of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, while the Deputy Mayor will be Salman Abdullah Murad.
He said that Mayor Kashif Shoro and Deputy Mayor Saghir Qureshi have been nominated as candidates for the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad.
He said that Abdul Rauf Ghori has been nominated for Mayor of Municipal Corporation Mirpurkhas and Junaid Buland has been nominated for Deputy Mayor.
Nisar Khoro said that Qazi Rasheed will be the candidate for Mayor of Municipal Corporation Shaheed Benazirabad, while Mubasher Arain will be the candidate for Deputy Mayor.
He said that Arslan Shaikh will be the candidate for Mayor of Sukkur Municipal Corporation and Dr. Arshad Mughal will be the candidate for Deputy Mayor.
He said that for Municipal Corporation Larkana, Anwar Lohar has been nominated as a candidate for Mayor and Muhammad Amin Shaikh has been nominated as a candidate for Deputy Mayor.
Syed Kamil Shah and Vice Chairman Akhtar Ali Meher will be the candidates for the Chairman of District Council Sukkur.
Shiraz Shaukat Rajpar will be the candidate for the chairman of District Council Khairpur and Fahad Shah Jilani will be the candidate for the vice chairman.
Ghotki District Council Chairman will be Bangal Khan Mehr and Vice Chairman Babar Khan Lund.
Ali Akbar Jamali will be the candidate for the Chairman of Shaheed Benazir District Council and Abdul Rasool Brohi will be the candidate for the Vice Chairman.
Sohail Abbasi and Vice-Chairman Ali Sher Bharat will be the candidates for Nowshahrofiroz District Council Chairman.
Ali Hasan Hangurjo and Vice Chairman Jam Zaheer will be candidates for Sanghar District Council Chairman.
Mirpurkhas district council chairman will be Mir Anwar Talpur while Mir Ahmad Khan will be the candidate for vice chairman.
Haji Baqa Palli will be the candidate for Umarkot District Council Chairman and Pir Muhammad will be the candidate for Vice Chairman.
Ghulam Mohammad Samiju will be the candidate for Tharparkar District Council Chairman and Kamala Bhil for Vice Chairman.
Qasim Shah will be the candidate for Tando Muhammad Khan District Council Chairman while Haji Ghulam Mustafa Jat will be the candidate for Vice Chairman.
Abdul Hameed Panhoor will be the candidate for Thatta District Council Chairman and Mumtaz Jalbani will be the candidate for Vice Chairman.
Danish Malkani and Vice Chairman Ramizul Haq Zaniwar will be the candidates for Sajawal District Council Chairman.

The names of the candidates for 7 towns of Hyderabad District Municipal Corporation have been announced. According to which Mustafa Bilal will be the candidate for the chairman and Fayyaz Shah will be the candidate for the vice chairman in Town Municipal Corporation Mian Sarfraz.
For Town Municipal Corporation Sachal Sarmast, the candidate for chairman will be Taj Wali Khan and the candidate for vice chairman will be Abdul Jabbar Jatoi.
For Town Municipal Corporation Hussainabad, Umair Chandio will be the candidate for the chairman, while Mehr Ali Dashek will be the candidate for the vice chairman.
