Hafiz Naeemur Rehman should audit the government's electric

Karachi: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded the government to audit K-Electric.

Talking to the media, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that a hearing was held in the Supreme Court on the request of Jamaat-e-Islami in 2015. We also participated in the hearings of the Supreme Court in 2015. It is a huge issue of public interest.

He said that the citizens are being robbed due to over-billing, load-shedding, fuel adjustment. A hearing has taken place after 8 years. Many things change in such a time. A dialogue was held with the Chief Justice of Pakistan on how to conduct this case. The privatization agreement with the state was violated. The transmission and distribution works that were supposed to be done were not done. No substantial increase in the production capacity of KESC.

Amir Jamaat said that there should not be a new agreement for distribution of electricity. We demand an audit of K Electric from the government. Citizens died due to power outages during the heat wave in the extreme heat. We want citizens to get justice. Jamaat-e-Islami is the only voice against electric. No political party speaks against K-Electric. The case of the citizens of Karachi is being fought on every platform. We also go to court and we also go to Nepra.

Talking about the mayor of Karachi, he said that there are contacts at the party level between the People’s Party and the Muslim League for the mayorship. They also ask the Muslim League-N that if they want the betterment of Karachi, then support us. Even after meeting with Muslim League, PP does not have full numbers. He did not recognize the mandate of Fatima Jinnah. He accepted the breakup of the country but did not accept the mandate of the other.

Hafiz Naeem said that those who buy and sell with our money will not be allowed to succeed. We are in contact with all parties. People of Karachi want development. People’s Party should accept the Mayor of Jamaat-e-Islami. Everyone knows how the seats have been taken away in local body elections. We will not let anyone take over.
