The election process for the specific seats of Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) has been completed.
According to the sources, 34 reserved seats for women have gone to the People’s Party, 29 to Jamaat-e-Islami, 14 to PTI, 3 to PML-N and 2 to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F).
After the seats of other categories, the total number of seats of the People’s Party in the KMC has reached 155.
Jamaat-e-Islami has got 130 seats and PTI has got 62 seats, thus the total number of seats of this alliance of Mayor Karachi has reached 192.
After 155 seats of PPP, 16 seats of PML-N, 4 seats of JUI, the total number is 175 while TLP has one seat.
Election of 366 members out of 367 of KMC has been completed, the case of one UC chairman’s seat is in court.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will soon issue the notification of the success of the candidates.
