New Delhi: India has demanded Germany to return the 2-year-old Indian girl.
According to a foreign news agency, the daughter of an Indian couple living in Germany was taken into custody by the German authorities in 2021. At that time, the baby girl was 7 months old. The girl Ariha Shah was accidentally injured by her grandmother after which she was taken into custody.
The girl’s father worked in Germany who returned to India with his wife after the incident. Relations between Germany and India are strained over the issue of extradition of the girl child.
The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has demanded Germany to hand over Ariha Shah to India, calling the girl’s separation from her parents a serious violation of human, social and cultural rights. German authorities say the girl is fine and her care is a top priority.
