Minister of State for Petroleum Mossadegh Malik has said that the arrival of Russian oil will not reduce the prices of petroleum products.
Addressing the Pakistan Energy Conference in Islamabad via Zoom, Mossadegh Malik said that the price of Russian oil will decrease only if more cargoes arrive.
He said that Russian oil will reach Pakistan in 2 weeks, the arrival of which will not reduce the oil prices in the country.
The Minister of State further said that wherever cheap oil is found in the world, we will buy it, the effort is to avoid restrictions and meet the energy requirements.
He said that they are resuming the search for oil and gas in the sea, they will soon bring tight gas policy in the country.
Mossadegh Malik also said that the government is considering re-opening the closed gas wells, trying to give some concession for the rehabilitation of closed wells.
